OTF → WOFF
Convert OTF to WOFF
Legacy WOFF output from an OpenType source, mainly useful as an old browser fallback.
Nothing is uploaded to a server. The conversion runs locally, using your browser's own JavaScript engine.
Converting OTF to the original WOFF format is really a legacy-fallback move at this point, since WOFF2 already covers nearly all real-world browsers.
Why convert OTF to WOFF?
Use this only if you need a WOFF (not WOFF2) fallback source sitting alongside your primary WOFF2 file.
For this specific direction, the outline data passes through a TrueType-style representation internally, which can very slightly re-approximate the original PostScript curves. It's not visible at normal reading sizes, but if exact CFF preservation matters to you, use OTF to WOFF2 instead.
Frequently asked questions
- Should I pick WOFF or WOFF2 from my OTF?
- WOFF2 whenever you can. It's smaller and keeps your OTF's original outlines exact. Treat WOFF as an extra fallback only.
