Format
OTF, OpenType Font
Adobe and Microsoft's advanced typography format, usually carrying PostScript (CFF) outlines.
OpenType built on TrueType with ligatures, stylistic alternates, and richer cross-platform metadata. A lot of professional type foundries distribute their premium fonts as OTF specifically to keep these features intact. OTF fonts commonly use cubic Bezier (PostScript/CFF) outlines rather than TrueType's quadratic curves.
Best for
- Professional typography with ligatures and alternates
